Goal line technology not for GAA?

Goal line technology for major soccer tournaments has been given the go-ahead by the sport at international level.

Two systems have been approved for further testing and the new technology will be available at matched from early in 2013.  It is likely the two FA Cup semi finals and final will be the first games in Britain to benefit though UEFA is expected to continue with the additional referee’s assistants behind the goal. We call them umpires don’t we??

It is not considered likely that the technology would be introduced in the GAA as the height of goalposts and their movement in the wind, as well as most controversial scores being at a height beyond the posts would render it unworkable.
