A sliotar nestling in the grass
Hurling is a sport unique to Ireland and is recognised as the fastest field sport in the world requiring a high degree of skill, physicality and stamina. These ingredients combine to make hurling an intensely exciting sport to watch. Moving at speeds of up to 120 miles per hour, the sliotar is an obviously essential piece of equipment that is often overlooked despite its inseparable role in the game of hurling.
We don’t think of the sliotar as just a piece of equipment. We want to develop the humble sliotar as having an identity in its own right – a conversation piece, interesting and appealing to the person of Irish heritage, the tourist and to the collector alike.
